Detailed Narrative Description of Project:

The additional Financing of the Kathmandu Valley Water Supply Improvement Project Loan 3255AF supported the ongoing efforts of the Government of Nepal towards improving the water supply services by developing a reliable, equitable, and sustainable water supply system in Kathmandu Valley. The major works under Loan 3255AF are construction of 26 km of Bulk Distribution System (BDS), 3 Service Reservoir Tanks, approximately 200 km of distribution Network Improvement (DNI), Survey and detail design of 400 km of DNI and road reinstatement of municipality roads (about 120 km).

Population Served (approx..): 2 Million, Project Cost (approx.): 30,934,755,946.82

 

Out of the major works under Loan 2776 are about 85,000 household connections, 51 km of Bulk Distribution System Network (BDS), about 700 km of Distribution Network Improvement (DNI) and about 58 Bulk meters. Likewise, the major remaining works under L-1820 are installation of ground water treatment plants, completion and commissioning of nearly completed tube well construction and bulk distribution system from Sundarijal to Mahankal Chour. Scopes under construction works include civil, electrical, mechnicl including fire hydrants and safety works. Further details of works are summarized below:
